Katskill Mountain Critters is a 501(c)3 animal rescue organization located in Sullivan County, New York. Many innocent, abandoned and/or neglected pets are dropped into our brutal wilderness to fend for themselves, breed, or die. We strive to alleviate their suffering with our rescue efforts.
Our dogs are friendly and loving in spite of possible neglect or abuse, desperate for a family to love them, wanting only to please. Our cats, feral or abandoned strays, nonetheless are dependent upon human kindness. Often they come to us pregnant or just having given birth. Kittens and puppies, adult, elderly, or sick, we care for them all. We are also Federal and State licensed wildlife rehabilitator's; ferrets, rabbits, birds, and farm animals, all are cared for on our premises and in foster homes. Our first priority is to spay/neuter all our animals. Medical evaluations and treatments are provided as needed, including but not limited to: de-worming, flea protection and vaccinations. Sometimes socialization is needed. We are always seeking loving foster homes, if you can volunteer your time, join our organization!
Education is a major part of our program too. Children need to be taught early to respect all life. We teach care and compassion for all critters. If you are not able to volunteer your home, donations of cat and dog food, blankets, towels, and direct donations through our Paypal page are all urgently needed. Your fundraising experience will be put to good use, or give time at one of our adopt-a-thons.
Please visit with our precious ones who need attention, the warmth of a home and most of all love in our Pets link! We know you will find just the companion you are looking for to share your life with.
Thank you for your visit, come see our constantly changing adoption pages, write with your comments. Just stay a while to reflect on the love you may have to give. Make a happy and healthy pet of an appreciative former stray dog or cat who will be devoted and grateful for your adopting them.

While our focus remains on RESCUE, we have a strong "lean" toward ADVOCATING, advocating for such things as:
RESPONSIBLE OWNERSHIP through EDUCATION
STRICTER ANTI-CRUELTY LAWS & BETTER ENFORCEMENT.

Remember, it is important to REPORT ABUSE and/or NEGLECT of animals or it will NEVER END!

We believe it is time to tell AMERICA that the HUMANITARIAN'S of the WORLD will not stand for it anymore! Violators must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. CRUELTY TO ANIMALS IS A PREVENTABLE ILL on Society. We must TEACH Americans that being cruel or neglectful to animals is UNACCEPTABLE
CRUELTY CASES are at an all time high. You cant listen to a local news station without hearing about it EVERYDAY....."cat BURNED to death," "puppy STOMPED,"or "THROWN from rooftop"...horse beat, starved, or left to die,....etc. etc.
