We are in the process of establishing  a sanctuary.  At  the present time, we have most of our animals for adoption in foster homes. We try to make every effort to provide a safe and comfortable "cage  free"  environment for the animals.  We  are always  trying to come up with new and challenging  ideas to house them.  Unfortunately,  there are still many animals out there needing our help.

Update

Progress has been very slow;  however,  we have almost completed the first  8X10 wooden house for the feral and stray cats.  Lack of money,  time and the over whelming number of animals requiring our immediate help have made this a very slow process.  I will be adding new pictures soon.  As you can see, we still have a long way to go.

We had a local person donate this new Grey's Woodwork building for us to take her feral and stray cats.   It is far from complete and still needs to be stained outside and insulated and paneled on the inside and an outside enclosed attached.  We have been doing cat rescue for over 30 years and have had Ally Cat Allies as our mentor (TNR) trap,  neuter,  release; however over the years the cat feeding stations have been paved over with black top, the old barns torn down to build condominiums, not  to mention the problems with natural predators and also  people.  We are now leaning toward providing permanent sheltering for these so misunderstood felines.  I would hope that others will consider this idea to help save the ferals and strays that need homes.

It is almost finished, insulation and paneling is up and so is the cat door and cat walk. Indoor carpet going down tomorrow and then come the cats.  First, of course,  they must be trapped.

I spent the week end trapping cats.  They are now here and in their new home.  Unfortunately one got killed by a car before I started trapping, which had happened to a few others in the past.  Another reason to keep pets inside or in secured enclosures.   Most of these guys are still hiding inside the building but a couple have decided to venture out into the enclosure to check things out.  Once they are settled in, will start the process of getting them spayed/neutered.  Any donations to help would be greatly appreciated.

If you are wondering why I put a cat walk in this building, look at the picture below.  Building one the cats are using the building as a scratching post.   Hope to change that next year.  Also want to put some kind of canopy on the pens.  any one have any ideas?

The cats are finally here.   They seem to be enjoying their new found home.
