HAPPY TAILS

2010

June 2010

Bailey made it to our "Happy Tails" page!

Bailey's future was grim, she was abandoned with nowhere to go ........ Now her life has turned around, she has been adopted by Donna and her GREAT family. They love her and she is loving them right back.

We wish them ALL THE BEST!

Remember..............adoption saves a life, one animal at a time............

                                    Bork

Raphael and I (Dana) adopted one of the border collie/ lab mix puppies from you back in August.  I just thought I would send a picture and let you know how he was doing.  We named him Bork.  He is very energetic and always wants to please us.  He is learning very fast too. He has made many friends but his best has to be Mogi the black pug.  Bork is definitely a lab.  He loves the water and when it was warmer we took him to the beach often.  He gets along great with our 3 cats and loves to chase our chickens.  We are so glad to have Bork.  He is a goofball and always has tons of love to give.

This is a picture  of my daughter Hannah below with "her" puppy - Bonnie Rose.  I can't tell you how much of a joy this puppy is and smart...  she can sit, lay down and shake her paw when I use both voice and hand gestures.

Bonnie sits at the front door waiting to be leashed when she knows it's time for her walks.  She responds very well to food and is always looking for more. She's working on learning her name, her house training skills as well as her leash etiquette.    Bonnie and Sheila get along very well.  Sheila has been teaching Bonnie all  good habits and has been amazingly patient; sharing not only her toys, but has recently allowed Bonnie to share her special spot on our loveseat (2nd picture).  Whatever toy Sheila is interested in, that's the toy that Bonnie wants.  Where ever Sheila is, Bonnie is not  far away.  Both dogs love the snow and being outside running, chasing Sheila's Frisbee, wrestling with each other, and chasing Hannah.

Hannah, Sheila and Bonnie - my three "girls" - have spent the past couple of months bonding and really have such a wonderful time with each other.  When Hannah and Derek come home from school, Bonnie has more playmates to keep her busy.  My eldest son and his fiancé come over more now  just to play with her.  Bonnie is very much loved.

Thank you for all you've done, but mostly, thanks for Bonnie Rose.

2008 update- His name is now Oisin (pronounced "O-sheen"), as you can see, he is a very healthy boy who is now larger than Ella. His hearing is much better now and he loves his entire family and he's very protective of the house! Thank you again for all the good work you do and for letting us take him into our home!

Major- Male black and tan purebred German Shepard about one year old, was picked up as a stray emaciated and had a head injury. Vet said with time he should be fine. Adopted on 10/17/08.

Stella  is  flourishing.  We love her so much. She settled in right away. Ben and Rebecca take good care of her.  She plays soccer and races up and down hills with them. Luckily she sleeps a lot! She is loving cuddly and crazy playful. She turns everything she can into a den and is very snuggly with the kids. So thank you for such a wonderful puppy. She also loves walking through the woods with us to the stream and jumps around in it. She gets along well with the dog that  we dog sit for and is lot's of fun. (6/16/08)

Cody
is our 112 lb. St. Bernard we adopted from the Town of Bethel, NY shelter after he was abandoned and picked up by the animal control officer Henni,. We are so thankful to have adopted Cody as he is the most loyal, obedient, and gentle dog that one could imagine! He plays nicely with all, including a full house of children, cats, parrot, and ferrets. Cody is content as long as he can be resting next to your feet at all times (and yes, he has learned to push his way into the bathroom if necessary to be at your side!). In addition, do not even think about going near your shoes, coat or keys because he will beat you to the door every time. His favorite outing is to the dog park where he cheerfully romps with dogs big and small. He loves belly rubs! He generously shares his food with his kitty counterparts and will wait patiently for a spot at his dog dish; what a funny guy Cody is. We think he is one in a million and we hit the jackpot when we were united with Cody

She is an amazing dog and I couldn't be happier with her. She's working on crate training and house breaking right now but still gets a lot of play time around the house. Shes also learning to sit, lay down, and stay right now... so far we are getting good at sitting. Everyone here loves her and wants to steal her already. Thanks

The family who had these  puppies had to move.  They had both   parents  on the premises.   Four puppies and one kitten were    adopted that weekend. They went to their forever homes.

That  made our puppies and kitten very happy.

LOOK WHO HAS BEEN ADOPTED!
June 2009

Here is a picture of Tony's  two beautiful little kittens!
These poor kittens, at approximately three weeks old, were left for dead on the side of the road. They were bottle fed and raised together by our foster mom Cindy M. These two kittens were adopted both by Tony,  so they could stay together! Thanks Tony!
Please keep us updated.
Lots of luck to you...We are sure they will bring you nothing but joy.

Update

Brother and sister have been named LUCY AND LUIGI LEONE. They are both enjoying their life in Lake Huntington. Luigi is almost as big as Lucy. Lucy has become the more lovable and luigi is more outgoing. We love them and there was no way they could be separated. They send their thanks to  Cindy and Henni  for giving them a good start in life.   love, A L L  LEONE

Old Bones was picked up as a stray on 7-9-09, as you can see she needs some TLC, very sweet .  Can anyone please let her live out her life in comfort and knowing human kindness.

UPDATE ON OLD BONES: 8-1-09

Bones is in her new home with Melissa at PIGS Animal Sanctuary.  Bette Davis  not only paid for the vet bills but also made the trip to Hersey, Pa. to meet Mellissa. Thank you to both of them for helping make this possible.

Also to the people who offered to help us get her there.

Also a special thanks to Mz Many Names, without her posts this would not have been possible.
